You Can Not Out Give God;

withholding from Him is economically unsound!

by Maggi Dellagatta

When our dear Celina came to the Friday evening Prayer Meeting she felt tired and somewhat down because business was unusually slow that day at her beauty salon. Soon her attention was drawn away from herself as she listened to the nun who was a guest that evening. She was from an orphanage that she runs totally on donations - a big place that takes a lot of money to operate. As the Sister was asking for donations Celina felt prompted by the Lord to give the only money she had with her, a $20 bill - the total income of that day.

I'll let Celina tell you in her own words what happened the very next day:

"Saturday my first client was a man with naturally curly hair who came for a hair cut. When he gave me a $20 tip, I thought he made a mistake and gave it back to him. He said, `No, this is for you, I really love my hair cut. Nobody else knows how to cut my hair.' Then I gave a lady a permanent, and she also bought products. Her bill came to over $100, and she also gave me a $20 tip. Later that day I received a third $20 tip from another customer. In all my 25 years of operating a beauty salon, I never had a day with three $20 tips.

"God proved to me that He will honor it when we give out of our need, and He will reward several times multiplied!"

"Oh the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God!
How inscrutable are His judgments and how unsearchable His ways!"

"For who has known the mind of the Lord or who has been His counselor?
Or who has given Him anything that he may be repaid?"
"For from Him and through Him and for Him are all things.
To Him be glory forever.

Amen."

- Romans 11:33-36.
