His Mission

Coasting down

the rugged hills of time,

The story that ever thrills

the hearts and souls

of mortal men,

Of the Christ

who was crucified

for them.

His mission -

to prepare the way

To speak of God's salvation

by the humble and the weak,

And the fisher folk

and tax collectors from Galilee.

To tell us that he died

in the place of you and me.

So that we

can receive

the final call;

So that we

can rise

to the Holy Throne;

So that

we need not fall

into the fiery burning pit;

Because Jesus Christ

came

to save us from it.
