Jesus is Lord

A Meditation

Jesus leads us to God because he is God.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God; And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth; we have beheld his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father. [John 1:1,2,14]

Great indeed, we confess, is the mystery of our religion: [God] was manifested in the flesh, vindicated in the Spirit, seen by angels, preached among the nations, believed on in the world, taken up in glory. [1 Timothy 3:16]

Jesus can identify with us because he is man, as well as God.

For we have not a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. [Hebrews 4:15]

Jesus is the way for us to come to God.

[Christ Speaking] "I am the way, the truth and the life: no one comes to the Father but through me." [John 14:6]

To accept Jesus Christ into your life means to allow him to take the center. It involves surrendering your life to him. When we do this, we can come to know him personally.

But to all who received him, who believed in his name, he gave the power to become children of God. [John 1:12]
